Bio
Emma Leonard is an actor, screenwriter and producer who has worked in Australia, New Zealand and the US. Emma is most recognizable to Aus/NZ audiences for playing school teacher Tracey Dennis in the much loved series 800 Words (South Pacific Pictures/ Seven network).
Other screen crowds include Home & Away, US action drama series Almost Paradise, as well as appearing in Aussie classics Ten Pound Poms, Wonderland, Underbelly, Rescue Special Ops and All Saints. After studying improv at Upright Citizens Brigade in LA, Emma formed comedy troupe Frothpocalypse with Claudia Dzienny to create a wealth of online sketches including Cheetah Airways (Screen Aus). Their partnership evolved into Boobytrap Entertainment where Emma’s work as a writer, director and producer has been met with widespread festival success including her zomedy short The Followed which delighted audiences at Flickerfest 2024.
A regular in Sydney’s comedy scene, Emma has performs frequently at Improv Theatre Sydney and recently made her Sydney Comedy festival debut with Both Had Our Lives Ruined by The Same Genie. She has appeared in several winning pitches on ABC’s Gruen, as well as sketch comedy series Orange is the New Brown and We Interrupt This Broadcast. Emma is also a busy voice actor and can be heard across the airwaves on any given day, as well as narrating audiobooks and podcasts.
In 2024 the Boobytrap team will be producing Emma’s original screenplay, the gut-bustingly funny feature film Scoby. Boobytrap: www.boobytrapent.com
